# About GridFlow
GridFlow is an AI-powered generative art project where **human creativity meets computational muscle**.
## Philosophy: Human in the Loop, AI as the Engine
We believe in **Human in the Loop** β humans make the creative decisions, set the direction, and curate the results. AI is just the **computational engine** that generates thousands of possibilities at machine speed.
### The Basement Monkeys Metaphor
Imagine a team of monkeys sitting in a cozy basement. They don't write code, they don't understand algorithms, and they certainly don't crunch numbers. What do they do?
**They click buttons. They say "this one looks good" or "that one is boring".**
That's basically what we do here. The AI is the basement β running endlessly, generating infinite variations, handling all the tedious computational work. We monkeys just sit there, scrolling through the outputs, clicking "keep" or "discard", and occasionally pointing at something saying "ooh, that one is interesting!"
It's not glamorous, but it works. Human aesthetic judgment combined with AI's ability to generate and iterate at scale.
## What We Do
Using advanced AI models and creative coding, we generate interactive p5.js artworks that explore themes of:
- **Physics & Nature** - Simulating natural phenomena like fluid dynamics, particle systems, and organic growth
- **Mathematics & Geometry** - Visualizing mathematical concepts through code
- **Space & Cosmos** - Exploring the beauty of astronomical phenomena
- **Emergence & Complexity** - Creating complexity from simple rules
## How It Works
Our workflow:
1. **Human**: Decides on themes and creative directions
2. **AI**: Generates creative prompts and code based on themes
3. **Human**: Reviews results, provides ratings (1-5)
4. **AI**: Learns from feedback (okay, not really β but we filter based on human ratings!)
5. **Human**: Curates the best pieces for the site
The AI doesn't know what's "good" or "bad". It just generates. We do the knowing.

- **AI**: MiniMax-M2 via Anthropic API (the tireless basement worker)
- **Graphics**: p5.js for interactive generative art
- **Site**: Hugo static site generator
- **Hosting**: Cloudflare Pages

We rate each artwork on a 1-5 scale:
